The SEIU has been involved in political campaigning for legislation backed by President Barack Obama and the US Democratic Party. It has often helped organize and attend meetings in support of President Obama's push for healthcare reform.
Ramona Oliver said the union has conducted an intensive national campaign over the last several months and plans to organize more 400 events this month alone around the country advocating health care reform and economic recovery.
